The Board of Directors of the Association for Uncrewed\nVehicle Systems International (AUVSI) announced that Michael Robbins is the\nassociation\u2019s new President and CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMichael has proven himself as an effective advocate and\nleader in the industry, and with his extensive experience in government,\nmilitary, and industry, was the unanimous Board choice to be AUVSI\u2019s President\nand CEO,\u201d said William Irby, Chair of the Board of Directors and President of\nAgEagle Aerial Systems. \u201cHe has invested years in building strong relationships\nwith AUVSI\u2019s members, government stakeholders, and within the broader uncrewed\nsystems community. On behalf of the Board, I look forward to working with\nMichael to advance AUVSI\u2019s strategic goals and enhance our industry\u2019s long-term\nreputation, trustworthiness, and value proposition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robbins joined AUVSI in 2020<\/a> and previously served as Chief Advocacy Officer, where he led all advocacy, communications, and cybersecurity initiatives. He is currently also an Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Prior to joining AUVSI, Robbins co-founded a business consulting firm, Intrepid, where AUVSI was a client, and served as its Chief Operating Officer. Before starting Intrepid, he was Managing Director of Government and Public Affairs at the Air Line Pilot Association, International (ALPA). Robbins also spent a decade on Capitol Hill in the office of the late U.S. Congressman John Dingell (Michigan), where he served as the Chief of Staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am\nenergized by the opportunity to lead this growing organization and fantastic\nteam to advance initiatives that solve our community\u2019s challenges, shape the\nindustry\u2019s future, and deliver results for our members.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael recently served as co-chair of the Federal Aviation\nAdministration\u2019s UAS Detection and Mitigation Aviation Rulemaking Committee and\npresently sits on the U.S. Department of Transportation\u2019s Aerospace Supply\nChain Resiliency Task Force and the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security\nAgency\u2019s Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council sUAS Security\nWorking Group. He is a member of The MITRE Corporation\u2019s Aviation Advisory\nCommittee and the Advisory Committee for the National Advanced Mobility\nConsortium.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
