Scott Denny has been\nselected for this new position within the Virginia Department of Aviation\n(DOAV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott began his position April 10, 2024, and is already in\ncontact with AAM manufacturers across the United States to determine how to\nbest support and welcome the Advanced Air Mobility industry to Virginia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe conducted an extensive nationwide search to fill this\nunique position, and the perfect candidate was just down the hall from my\noffice,\u201d said DOAV Director Greg Campbell.&nbsp;\n\u201cScott has the right mix of experience and skills to really make\nVirginia a leader in this burgeoning industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to his 23 years of experience as a senior\naviation planner with the DOAV, Scott is a commercial pilot and certified\nflight instructor, and he has served as both a county planner and as a code\ncompliance officer.&nbsp; He holds a\nbachelor\u2019s degree in governmental administration.&nbsp; This skill set will serve him well as he\nworks with localities on zoning issues, writing model ordinances, and planning\nfor the operation of AAM vehicles in the Virginia air transportation system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott Denny said, \u201cThe advancement of aviation has been my\nlifelong professional goal, so to have an opportunity to develop and promote\nthis new form of air transportation is simply amazing!&nbsp; I\u2019m looking forward to working with airports,\nlocalities, federal and state agencies as well as industry to ensure the safe,\neffective and efficient integration of Advanced Air Mobility into our air\ntransportation system.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Photo above &#8211; Scott Denny.
