He also provided the stepped-up production targets for\nKodiak aircraft in 2024: an increase to 25, compared to the total of 18 during\n2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Kodiak-900.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28409\" width=\"264\" height=\"197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Kodiak-900.jpg 715w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Kodiak-900-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 264px) 100vw, 264px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKodiak\u2019s well-earned reputation as the legendary \u2018go\nanywhere\u2019 utility aircraft has been further enhanced since Daher\u2019s 2019\nacquisition of the product line, and its popularity continues to grow \u2013 with a\ncurrent two-year order backlog,\u201d Chabbert told reporters at the press\nconference. \u201cThe production enhancement announced today responds to the strong\ndemand across the customer base \u2013 from private owners\/operators to government\nagencies and special mission operators for applications such as wildfire suppression,\nenvironmental monitoring, law enforcement and medical evacuation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sandpoint\u2019s increased production capacity results from the\naddition of a second final assembly line that \u201cmirrors\u201d the build-up of Kodiaks\nonce the basic airframe has been assembled. As a result, there now are\nseparate, parallel integration steps for the Kodiak 100 and Kodiak 900 from\nStages 3 to 6, involving wing and horizontal stabilizer mating; flight controls\nintegration and rigging; engine and avionics installation; first flight;\ninterior outfitting, and customer delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese parallel assembly lines were developed using our\ninternal resources, fully benefiting from support across the Sandpoint team,\u201d\nexplained Kerry Olson, Daher\u2019s Director of Kodiak Operations and Site Leader at\nSandpoint. \u201cThe parallel production came on-line ahead of schedule, which is\nanother point of pride for everyone at the facility.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The increased production capacity follows other improvements\nat Sandpoint implemented by Daher, notably the investment of $2.7 million in a\n9,000-sq-ft. aircraft painting facility that streamlined the overall production\nprocess and further improved the build quality for Kodiak 100s and Kodiak 900s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To date, a combined total of 330 Kodiak 100s and Kodiak 900s\nhave been delivered to owners and operators worldwide. The most recent Kodiak\n900 \u2013 the seventh to date \u2013 was received by a private owner in March. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Kodiak-incentive-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28410\" width=\"313\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Kodiak-incentive-1.jpg 612w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Kodiak-incentive-1-300x154.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 313px) 100vw, 313px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Enhancements in the Kodiak product line under Daher\u2019s\nownership include the Kodiak 900 version, which was unveiled in 2022.\nInheriting the cornerstone Kodiak 100\u2019s remarkable qualities as a backcountry\nSTOL (short takeoff and landing) multi-role airplane, the Kodiak 900 has a\nfuselage length extension of 3.9 feet to provide more passenger room and cargo\nspace, a cruise speed increase to 210 KTAS, and a greater useful load while\noffering a maximum range of 1,129 nautical miles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kodiak 100 has been improved as well, beginning with\nDaher\u2019s 2021 introduction of the Series III version that provides greater cabin\ncomfort, augmented operational capabilities from both unimproved strips and on\nwater with floats, as well as upgraded quality and more comprehensive\nmaintenance coverage. Additionally, Daher is now delivering new-production\nKodiak 100s equipped with a five-blade Hartzell composite propeller \u2013 which\nalso is offered for retrofit on in-service Kodiak 100s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other retrofits and upgrades for earlier-production Kodiak\n100s \u2013 such as the G1000\u00ae NXi integrated flight deck retrofit with\nnext-generation avionics technology \u2013 are offered by Daher to enhance\noperability and maintain aircraft resale value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parallel production lines for the final assembly of Kodiak\naircraft from Stage 3 to Stage 6 are now operational at Daher\u2019s Sandpoint,\nIdaho production facility.
