Farmer named Chief Operations Officer at Asheville Regional\nAirport<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asheville Regional Airport has announced the selection of Ms. Alexandra \u201cLexie\u201d Farmer, C.M., A.C.E. as the organization’s new Chief Operations Officer (COO). A national search was conducted by Steven Baldwin & Associates ahead of the June 2024 retirement of Michael Reisman, current COO at AVL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farmer currently serves as the Airport Operations Director\nfor Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, North Carolina\nand leads a division of 10 teams with over 300 direct employees and an\noperational budget of over $70 million annually. Her role also includes\nstrategic operations to create an Airport Operations Division that leads the\ndevelopment and execution of a strategic operations plan with key elements of\nfinance, performance, business management, project coordination and governance,\nand procedural standardization and optimization. Prior to her work with CLT,\nFarmer held the positions of Assistant Airport Operations Manager at General\nMitchell International Airport (MKE in Milwaukee, Wis.), Airport Operations\nSupervisor at Dane County Regional Airport (MSN in Madison, Wis.), Landside\nOperations Supervisor and Aviation Planner, Logistics and Construction\nCoordinator at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL in\nAtlanta, Ga.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ef\u00bb\u00bfFarmer\nis an industry professional with over 20 years of airport leadership experience\nand during her career has developed and led a wide variety of operational\ninitiatives that support the mission and vision of the airports she serves.\nLexie has a master\u2019s degree in public administration from Georgia State\nUniversity as well as a bachelor’s degree in aviation management from\nEmbry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Farmer is also a Certified Member (C.M.)\nof American Association of Airports Executives (A.A.A.E.), an Airport Certified\nEmployee (A.C.E.), and an Airport Security Coordinator (A.S.C).|<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding her new appointment, Farmer stated, \u201cI am so\nexcited to join the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority, and to be a\npart of the team that is working so hard to meet the demands of today while\ncontinuing to build for tomorrow. Asheville is growing, and I am eager to be\npart of planning for the airport of the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
