{"id":28392,"date":"2024-04-15T19:27:15","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T19:27:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=28392"},"modified":"2024-04-15T19:27:17","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T19:27:17","slug":"tennessee-2023-airport-manager-of-the-year-awarded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/tennessee\/tennessee-2023-airport-manager-of-the-year-awarded\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Tennessee 2023 Airport Manager of the Year Awarded"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 2023 Tennessee Airport Manager of the Year award was\nrecently presented to Paul Turner, manager of the Maury County Regional\nAirport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This award recognizes the Airport Manager that contributed\nthe most to the development, safety, customer service, airport promotion and\/or\nairport operations for the previous calendar year in the state of Tennessee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Paul-Turner.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28393\" width=\"234\" height=\"312\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Paul-Turner.jpg 384w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Paul-Turner-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px\" \/><figcaption><em>Paul Turner<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPaul Turner\u2019s passion for aviation and dedication to\nproviding outstanding customer service make him an exemplary individual among\nour state\u2019s airport professionals,\u201d noted John Saalwaechter, Aeronautics\nDirector. \u201cThe TDOT Aeronautics Division and Tennessee Aeronautics Commission\n(TAC) are proud to give Paul the honor and recognition that he deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turner has been at Maury County Regional (KMRC) for 15 years\nand has served as Airport Manager for the past 14 years. Under his leadership,\nKMRC has become the preferred destination for cargo operations in support of\nthe automotive industries operating south of Nashville. Executives of these\ncompanies and world-famous performers alike routinely utilize KMRC for its\nfocus on privacy, safety and security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turner has always been a major proponent of community\ninvolvement. He hosts classroom visits, annual youth aviation events, and joint\ncommunity events at the airport. Most recently, he led KMRC through the\nrehabilitation of runway 06\/24.&nbsp; Working\nas part of team with the TDOT Aeronautics Division, airport consultants, and\ncontractors, the runway was reopened on time and on budget.&nbsp; Within the first months of re-opening, the\nairport\u2019s fuel sales exceeded previous record highs. Paul\u2019s passion for the\nairport and his commitment to outstanding service have made KMRC an invaluable\nasset for the flying public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual Tennessee Airport Awards began in 1983. The TAC\nand TDOT Aeronautics Division present these awards to commend recipients for\ntheir hard work, diligence, and devoted efforts in improving airports, airport\nsafety, and aviation in Tennessee.
