{"id":28325,"date":"2024-04-08T15:38:12","date_gmt":"2024-04-08T15:38:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=28325"},"modified":"2024-04-08T15:38:14","modified_gmt":"2024-04-08T15:38:14","slug":"the-metropolitan-airports-commission-names-mark-bents-as-director-of-real-estate-and-airline-affairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/news\/airports\/the-metropolitan-airports-commission-names-mark-bents-as-director-of-real-estate-and-airline-affairs\/%20","title":{"rendered":"The Metropolitan Airports Commission Names Mark Bents as Director of Real Estate and Airline Affairs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) has selected Mark\nBents as its new director of real estate and airline affairs within the\norganization\u2019s newly renamed Revenue and Business Development division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mark-Bents-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28326\" width=\"128\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mark-Bents-edit.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mark-Bents-edit-216x300.jpg 216w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 128px) 100vw, 128px\" \/><figcaption><em>Mark Bents  <br> Credit: Metropolitan Airports Commission <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Promoted from assistant director of commercial management\nand airline affairs, Bents\u2019 new director role will focus on leading all real\nestate, airline and rental car agreements across the MAC\u2019s system of airports,\nwhich includes Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and six general\naviation airports in the Twin Cities.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMark has been leading a resourceful team responsible for a\nsignificant amount of annual revenue for the MAC,\u201d said Samantha Porter, MAC\nvice president of finance and revenue development. \u201cHe has led several\ncommercial growth opportunities for the MAC through his established industry\nrelationships and strategic revenue initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his nearly 10 years at the MAC, Bents has been involved\nin contract negotiations and revenue development initiatives with most of the\nMAC\u2019s airline, tenant and aviation partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am thrilled to have been promoted to the director role,\u201d\nBents said. \u201cI look forward to the new challenges that lie ahead that will have\na great impact in optimizing the MAC\u2019s financial performance and helping our\nairports operate in a friendly, efficient and secure manner.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bents earned his CPA certification in 2008 and was a tax\nmanager for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP before joining the MAC in 2014. Prior\nto that, Bents got his aviation experience as an airport operations specialist\nat South Bend Regional Airport in South Bend, Indiana, and as an airport\noperations coordinator at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas.\nBents holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in business administration and an MBA with a\nfinance emphasis from the University of North Dakota.
