Aviation stakeholders from across Kansas gathered in Topeka\nto discuss jobs, infrastructure and emerging technologies as part of Aviation\nDay at the Capitol last week. The event was sponsored by the Kansas Department\nof Transportation and the Kansas Commission on Aerospace Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe event offers an amazing collaborative opportunity to\nshowcase aviation by bringing legislators, employers, state and federal\nofficials, and other aviation industry stakeholders together,\u201d said Ray Seif, Aviation\nDirector for the KDOT Division of Aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Numerous organizations participated with booths on the first\nfloor of the rotunda with information and demonstrations for visitors. Keynote\nspeakers included Joe Miniace, Federal Aviation Administration Central Region\nAdministrator, and Pierre Harter, Associate Vice President for Industry and\nDefense Programs, Research Operations at Wichita State University. Harter also\nserves as Director of Research and Development at the National Institute for\nAviation Research at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
