The Colorado Aeronautical Board (CAB) approved a $2 million Colorado Discretionary Aviation Grant (CDAG) to rehabilitate the airport&#8217;s general aviation apron.\u00c2\u00a0Photo\u00c2\u00a0by\u00c2\u00a0Shahn\u00c2\u00a0Sederberg,\u00c2\u00a0CDOT.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Colorado Aeronautical Board (CAB) approved the FY2024\nstate and locally funded discretionary aviation grants for Colorado airports\nduring a January 23, 2024, CAB meeting. The unanimous decision authorized the\ndistribution of $11.3 million in state aviation fuel tax revenues through\ngrants to 21 Colorado public-use airports under the Colorado Discretionary\nAviation Grant (CDAG) Program administered by the Colorado Department of\nTransportation\u2019s (CDOT) Division of Aeronautics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The grants ranged from $67,500 and as much as $2 million.\nThis year\u2019s grant awards were categorized into six different project types\nincluding airfield construction and rehabilitation, pavement maintenance, snow\nremoval equipment and storage facilities, weather reporting, and other airport\nprojects. 40% of this year\u2019s discretionary aviation grant awards were allocated\nto support seven airfield construction and rehabilitation projects, including a\n$2 million grant awarded to Greeley-Weld County Airport to fund 90% of the cost\nof rehabilitating the airport\u2019s general aviation apron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A comprehensive listing of each airport grant award can be <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1ChbSuWQD8l51Zf1aaRJmcWF1-xtLZxmp\/view\">found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;On behalf of the Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority\nstaff and board, we are grateful for the CDOT Division of Aeronautics&#8217; decision\nto fund our main ramp rehabilitation project. This grant and previous grants we\nhave received from the division have been integral to the airport&#8217;s safety and\nsuccess over the years. We look forward to the continued work that the division\nputs into building and maintaining Colorado&#8217;s aviation network and would like\nto thank the staff for their commitment to their work,&#8221; said Greeley-Weld\nCounty Airport Director Cooper Anderson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Planners with the Colorado Division of Aeronautics are now\nin preparation for a second cycle of grant awards.
