The project worth approximately $2.5 million\nconsisted of the replacement of all runway edge lighting and cabling, the replacement\nof airfield directional signage, and the replacement of constant current\nregulators for the electrical vault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/BCT-NewLightsImproveRunwaySafety-pic.3-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27850\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/BCT-NewLightsImproveRunwaySafety-pic.3-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/BCT-NewLightsImproveRunwaySafety-pic.3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/BCT-NewLightsImproveRunwaySafety-pic.3.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 259px) 100vw, 259px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The project meets the current design standards of the\nFederal Aviation Administration (FAA) and provides necessary improvements that\nenhance airport safety and help create a better experience for pilots and travelers.\nThe upgrades included 287 airfield lighting components and 114 airfield signage\nimprovements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new LED fixtures are known for their longevity and\nenergy efficiency, leading to significantly lower life cycle costs.\nFurthermore, LED technology improves visibility, reducing the risk of runway\nincursions and the LED signs are significantly less likely to go dark due to\nlamp burnout.
