For the second time in as many months, the industry\u2019s\ncalendar featured an event that set a high-water mark for participation, and\nonce again offered an extraordinary lineup of high-caliber speakers, with the\nNational Business Aviation Association\u2019s (NBAA\u2019s) record-breaking 2024\nLeadership Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking place Feb. 5-7 in Palm Springs, CA, the conference\nhosted nearly 500 attendees, close to half of whom were first-time\nparticipants. More than 100 of the participants were part of NBAA\u2019s Young\nProfessionals organization, and more than 50 people attended the event as part\nof the association\u2019s Professional Development Program (PDP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis week\u2019s Leadership Conference set a new standard in\nproviding professionals with career-building value, with big-picture speakers\nwhose perspectives apply not just to business aviation, but to leadership at\nthe broadest, most meaningful level,\u201d said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.\n\u201cThe sense of optimism and opportunity was palpable at the conference this\nweek, providing a strong tailwind for the events ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Organized by the event\u2019s co-chairs \u2013 Business Aviation\nManagement Committee (BAMC) volunteers Samantha Garrison, Wonderful Aviation;\nJay Orwin, Netflix and Jeff Poeppelman, Nationwide Aviation Business Center \u2013\nthe conference\u2019s theme was \u201cNext-Level Leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presenter lineup at this year\u2019s Leadership Conference included \u201cSleep Scientist\u201d Dr. Sophie Bostock; record-breaking author-pilot Ryan Campbell; Pivot Point International founder Sarah Kalmeta and others widely regarded speakers. Their motivational remarks offered innovative thinking about some of the concerns most often presented to those in leadership positions, from mental and physical well-being to resilience in a turbulent organizational environment, to the secrets for reaching optimal performance in work and life.
