In\nthis role, Urban monitors executive branch agency activities and serves as the\nteam liaison to NATA\u2019s Air Charter and Maintenance Committees. She also\nrepresents the association at industry and government meetings, hearings, and\nevents, as well as plays a crucial role in advancing NATA\u2019s mission and\nadvocacy efforts through industry engagement, project management, and\nstakeholder collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"280\" height=\"280\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jenny-Ann-Urban.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27666\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jenny-Ann-Urban.png 280w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jenny-Ann-Urban-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jenny-Ann-Urban-60x60.png 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/><figcaption><em>Jenny Ann Urban<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJenny Ann\u2019s striking breadth of industry knowledge and\nexperience, along with her unique ability to rally diverse stakeholders around\na common goal, are invaluable to elevating NATA\u2019s continued influence and\nprogress in the air charter and maintenance sectors,\u201d stated NATA COO Keith\nDeBerry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Urban is an international aviation attorney with expertise\nin regulatory matters, government affairs, crisis management, security, and\nemerging technologies. She recently repatriated to the U.S. after serving as a\nManager in Transport and Logistics for PwC Middle East. In this role, Urban\nacted as a Subject Matter Expert advising high-level government officials on\ntopics covering legislative drafting, regulations and compliance, data privacy,\nand new mobility throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior, Urban served as the Director of Aviation Relations\nand Compliance for a biometric identity platform where she led emergency\nmanagement and incident response for the company\u2019s 36 airport locations. In\nthis role, Urban spearheaded opportunities for team members to become trained\non anti-human trafficking campaigns, including leading the company\u2019s\npartnership with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the\nTransportation Security Administration on the anti-human trafficking initiative\nprior to Super Bowl LII.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Urban was an associate at the international\nlaw firms of Cozen O\u2019Connor and K&amp;L Gates LLP, counseling airlines, air\ncharter companies, trade associations, airports, and other aviation industry\nstakeholders on compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal\nAviation Administration, and Transportation Security Administration policies\nand regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe warmly welcome Jenny Ann to the NATA team and look\nforward to her work in advancing Association and industry efforts to recruit\nand foster aviation talent, combat illegal charter activities, protect the\ninterests of part 135 and 145 members, collaborate on new opportunities, and\nsupport an environment for aviation business leadership and growth,\u201d stated\nNATA President and CEO Curt Castagna. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Urban is an internationally acclaimed public speaker, an\naward-winning aviation author, and a 2019 Airport Business Top 40 Under 40\nhonoree. A strong advocate for introducing the next generation to aviation, she\nserves as an adjunct professor at Eastern New Mexico University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An avid Ole Miss Rebels fan, Urban earned her LL.M. in Air\nand Space Law, J.D., M.B.A., and B.A. in Public Policy Leadership and Political\nScience from the University of Mississippi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Urban will take over as Maintenance Committee team liaison\nfrom Ken Thompson, NATA\u2019s Managing Director of Regulatory Affairs, who will\nstep down from his full-time position on February 1, 2024. Thompson joined\nNATA\u2019s regulatory team in June 2022 as Senior Advisor before being promoted to\nManaging Director of Regulatory Affairs, specializing in business aviation\nmaintenance issues in both roles. Thompson will continue to assist NATA and its\nmembership on supply chain, illegal charter, and other critical matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ken-Thompson-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27665\" width=\"103\" height=\"133\"\/><figcaption><em>Ken Thompson<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s rare to find someone like Ken with the perfect blend\nof enthusiasm, energy, and aviation expertise,\u201d added Castagna. \u201cIt has been a\npleasure witnessing Ken\u2019s success in inspiring our members and those aspiring\nto join the aviation community.
