(DDC) has announced it has\nentered into multiple commercial agreements with each of Edmonton International\nAirport (&#8220;YEG&#8221;), Apple Express Courier Ltd., BBE Expediting Ltd., and\nMFN Management Inc. to deploy DDC&#8217;s award-winning and patented drone delivery\nsolution at Edmonton International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Drone-Delivery-Canada-Corp-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27653\" width=\"309\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Drone-Delivery-Canada-Corp-edit.jpg 650w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Drone-Delivery-Canada-Corp-edit-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 309px) 100vw, 309px\" \/><figcaption><em>DDC&#8217;s Canary RPA (CNW Group\/Drone Delivery Canada Corp.)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreements, with an aggregate value of $417,000 will run\nfor a 12-month duration. Pursuant to the terms of the agreements, DDC will\nexpand the defined route delivery from YEG with an additional DroneSpot\u2122 at a\nmedical clinic located in the city of Leduc, Alberta. Cargo delivery will take\nplace from YEG to the medical clinic while also maintaining the current\ndelivery route from YEG to the off airport DroneSpot\u2122 in Leduc County, which\nformed the delivery route for the first phase of the project. The medical\nclinic is wholly owned by Montana First Nation and provides health care\nservices to indigenous and non-indigenous Canadians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All operations will be conducted in accordance with\napplicable Canadian regulations and\/or Transport Canada special approvals with\nflights remotely piloted by DDC from its Operations Control Centre located in\nVaughan, Ontario. Additionally, the Canary Remotely Piloted Aircraft\n(&#8220;RPA&#8221;) will be used on this route once operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DDC will commence deployment of the site infrastructure\nshortly and expects to begin providing drone delivery services under the\ncommercial agreements later in 2024. The YEG drone delivery project, which\nbegan with the execution of an agreement with YEG in 2019, won an XCELLENCE\nAward for innovation from the Association for Uncrewed Vehicles Systems\nInternational in 2022 and became commercially operational in May 2022. During\nthe first phase of the project, over 2,400 flights with a total flight distance\nof over 6,500km were completed. The new agreements add a second leg to the\noperations originating out of the central DroneSpot\u2122 at YEG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steve Magirias, CEO of Drone Delivery Canada, commented:\n&#8220;We are very pleased to sign these new agreements as part of the next\nphase of our operations at Edmonton International Airport, as well as\nintroducing two new partners as part of the agreements.
