The first tour of the year will take place\non March 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Named after Jon K. Thompson, one of the Airport Authority\u2019s\nlongest-serving board members, these tours are designed to give attendees a\nbetter look at the airport\u2019s operations and a better understanding about the\nimportant role MEM plays in the Mid-South economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tours will take place from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on the\nfollowing dates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Thursday, March 28, 2024<\/li><li>Thursday, April 25, 2024<\/li><li>Thursday, May 23, 2024<\/li><li>Thursday, June 27, 2024<\/li><li>Thursday, July 25, 2024<\/li><li>Thursday, August 22, 2024<\/li><li>Thursday, September 26, 2024<\/li><li>Thursday, October 24, 2024<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The tour begins with a continental breakfast and\npresentations on the airport&#8217;s history, current activities, finances, projects,\nair service development efforts, and FedEx operations. The presentations are\nfollowed by a comprehensive bus tour around the airfield, including the FedEx\nWorld Hub and the Tennessee Air National Guard base. At the conclusion of the\nbus tour, attendees will also have the option of a walking tour of MEM\u2019s\nconcourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe World Class Tour provides our community with a unique\nbehind-the-scenes opportunity to learn about MEM\u2019s operations,\u201d said Terry\nBlue, President and CEO of Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. \u201cAttendees\ncan learn about the latest projects as well in-depth information about FedEx\noperations and Tennessee National Guard activities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Register online at www.flymemphis.com\/jon-k-thompson-world-class-tour.
