Department of Transportation as its new Aviation Safety and\nPreservation Engineer. In this role, DeAveiro will provide day-to-day administration of Maintenance Contracts and play a\nkey role in establishing and maintaining Division Asset Management Systems\nthrough contracts and direct data collection. His responsibilities also extend\nto supporting the Division in matters related to statewide safety inspections,\nGIS support, and pavement condition reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DeAveiro comes to the Division from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncdot.gov\/initiatives-policies\/students-youth\/internship-programs\/transportation-engineering-associates\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Transportation Engineering Associates<\/a> program where he rotated through many units within NCDOT, including Aviation. DeAveiro is a graduate of the University of New Haven with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DeAveiro is the first of many new hires expected across the\nDivision in the coming months as the agency expands staffing to meet increased\nworkloads, particularly in the area of airport development. Some of the\nupcoming staffing opportunities include positions such as Project Managers,\nPlanning, and UAS staff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NCDOT Aviation promotes the economic well-being of North\nCarolina by developing a safe and robust air transportation system.
