The National Aeronautic Association (NAA) has announced the election of six new members to its Board of Directors. From commercial aviation, aerospace, and visionary aeronautics, the newest members bring extensive experience and enhanced direction to round out the Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new board members are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur current Board of Directors comprises a dedicated team\nof industry leaders, and the new members bring visionary leadership and\nguidance to our organization,\u201d said Amy Spowart, President and CEO of the NAA.\nWith a breadth of aerospace expertise and relationships from throughout the\nindustry, the new directors will further guide our role in the future of\naviation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Darby Becker serves as an Executive, Government Policy at\nG.E.. As Immediate Past President of the Aero Club of Washington and with her\nrole at G.E., Darby has a vast network and brings solid organizational insight\nto the NAA. Her skills in relationship building will aid the NAA\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lauren Haertlein is the Deputy General Counsel, Policy &\nRegulatory at Joby Aviation. She has a strong background in policy work, and\nwith previous roles at Zipline and GAMA, Lauren has a firm footing in\nsupporting the NAA\u2019s advocacy for members and strategic goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joan Higginbotham currently serves as the President of Joan\nHigginbothm Ad Astra, LLC. As a rocket scientist and retired NASA astronaut,\nJoan embodies a dedicated team mentality and focused organizational goals to\nfurther STEM opportunities for youth and all future leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Billy Nolen is the Chief Safety Officer of Archer Aviation.\nWith experience in commercial, general, and business aviation combined with his\nformer Acting FAA Administrator role, Billy provides a visionary mindset to\nsupport NAA\u2019s desire to drive aeronautics\u2019 next chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
James Viola is the President of Helicopter Association\nInternational (HAI). Jim\u2019s passion for his association and extensive experience\nin multiple industry sectors will profoundly augment the NAA\u2019s plan for\nenhanced membership experience and growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Claudia Zapata-Cardone is a Captain at United Airlines and\nthe Latino Pilots Association (LPA) President. Claudia\u2019s desire to build\naviation\u2019s workforce and empower through outreach and programming will enhance\nthe NAA\u2019s mission to foster the future of aeronautics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rounding out the newly elected Board Members is the\nappointment of new Directors from long-serving NAA Corporate Members. Welcome\nto Mark Miklos, Senior Vice President, Spirit AeroSystems, and Liana\nSucar-Hamel, Vice President, Communications, Airbus Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
