The program will include the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Private pilot course<\/li><li>Commercial pilot course<\/li><li>Instrument rating course<\/li><li>Multi-engine aircraft course<\/li><li>Elective flight instructor course<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The coursework also includes training in a flight simulation\ntraining device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;As a city known for offering exceptional workforce\nopportunities, this partnership will expand Columbia\u2019s offerings to further\nindividual\u2019s education and career development,&#8221; said Stacey Button,\nEconomic Development director. &#8220;We are very appreciative of this\npartnership with Moberly Area Community College and the opportunity to\npositively impact the region.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Workforce development programs are a key priority for\nMACC and these programs are most effectively developed and maintained through\npartnerships such as this agreement between MACC, the City of Columbia, and\nColumbia Regional Airport. Our ability to offer an Aviation Technology program\nwould simply not be possible without this partnership,&#8221; said MACC\nPresident Dr. Jeff Lashley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michael Parks, Columbia Regional Airport manager, said the\nagreement calls attention to the exceptional results of partnering with the\nlocal education community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This is a major step locally toward partnering with\neducation to make a difference in the world of aviation right here at\nCOU,&#8221; Parks said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the two-year agreement, MACC will lease approximately\n1,900 square feet of ground space at the airport\u2019s old terminal for office\nspace and classrooms. MACC will rent the space for $15 per square foot and will\nbe responsible for buildout costs totaling around $287,320.
