Photo by Tim Moore. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last Thursday, military, state\/local government, academia,\nand industry leaders from around the state met for lunch and a VIP Tour at the\nNorth Carolina Global TransPark (NCGTP). Photo by Kim Stevens.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This event aimed to increase awareness of the North Carolina\nGlobal TransPark&#8217;s capabilities in the aerospace industry sector and its role\nin military support while having access to academic resources (workforce\ntraining).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goals for the event were: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Explore the state-of-the-art facilities and\ninfrastructure at the NCGTP, including the Kinston Regional Jetport, which\noffers extensive airport infrastructure and access to utilities.<\/li><li>Gain insights into the history and mission of\nthe NCGTP and its economic impacts on the region.<\/li><li>Learn about the various transportation options\navailable, such as air, rail, and highway connections and proximity to North\nCarolina&#8217;s international ports.<\/li><li>Discuss potential collaborations and\npartnerships with other industry experts, researchers, representatives from\nmilitary commands, and state government.<\/li><li>Discover the potential for your organization to\nbenefit from the skilled workforce, research and development efforts, and\neconomic investment opportunities in Eastern North Carolina.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The tours showcased the significant aerospace and aviation\nindustries at the North Carolina Global TransPark and the availability for\nfuture growth for existing and new industries and manufacturers. Photo by Tim Moore.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to Draken International, FlyExclusive, LLC, Fleet\nReadiness Center East, NC Emergency Management, and Lenoir Community College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The North Carolina Global TransPark (GTP) is a 2,500 acre,\nmulti-modal industrial\/airport site in Eastern North Carolina. As an agency of\nthe State of North Carolina, the GTP is considered a key engine for driving the\neconomy of Eastern North Carolina. The park offers access to multi-modal\ntransportation options: air, rail, highways, and North Carolina&#8217;s two international\nports. The GTP is part of an economic development initiative in eastern North Carolina\nintended to spur transition in the region from an agricultural base to one of\nskilled labor and industrial manufacturing.
