Together, Overair and\nArlington aim to develop and launch electric vertical takeoff and landing\n(eVTOL) operations, starting at Arlington Municipal Airport (ICAO: KGKY, FAA\nLID: GKY), and extending throughout the DFW region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected that the eVTOL operations will offer a direct\nconnection to the city&#8217;s vibrant Entertainment District, home to Six Flags Over\nTexas, Hurricane Harbor, four professional sports franchises, &#8212; Texas Rangers,\nDallas Cowboys, Arlington Renegades and the WNBA\u2019s Dallas Wings \u2013 as well as\nnumerous restaurants, shopping centers, museums and live entertainment venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This announcement follows a recently announced agreement\nbetween Overair and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport to bring\neVTOL operations to the DFW Metroplex. The City of Arlington\u2019s strategic\ncollaboration with Overair will expand the company\u2019s AAM operations across\nNorth Texas by delivering fully integrated eVTOL ecosystem solutions \u2013 from\nvertiports and advanced charging infrastructure to the implementation of\nelectric aerial rideshare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the agreement, Overair will also establish a base\nof operations in North Central Texas, bringing new jobs to residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s announcement is a major step toward positioning\nArlington as one of the first cities in the world to integrate fully electric\nAAM capabilities into its transportation ecosystem,\u201d said Overair Chief\nCommercial Officer, Valerie Manning. \u201cElectric advanced air mobility is an\nexample of transportation evolving with the needs of a growing society. We are\nincredibly excited to help drive this transportation evolution in North Central\nTexas and to expand our presence in this region, known for its talent and\ntechnology.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Per the agreement, Overair and the City of Arlington will\nestablish a joint, cross-functional working group to oversee and address the\nchallenges of the project and ensure timely completion of milestones, including\nan initial feasibility study conducted by Overair to assess the demand for AAM\nservices within the Arlington area and evaluate scenarios for flight operations\nin and out of vertiport locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis partnership with Overair not only advances the City of\nArlington as a leader in implementing innovative transportation solutions, it\nalso provides high-tech and engineering jobs to our residents and the community\nat large; ultimately creating a new mobility ecosystem that will provide\nsocio-economic progress for decades to come,\u201d said Arlington Mayor Jim Ross.\n\u201cWe are excited to work with Overair to shape the future of transportation for\nour city and the DFW region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the development of the Butterfly aircraft currently on\nschedule to meet the goals and timelines of the Federal Aviation\nAdministration\u2019s Innovate28 initiative, Overair seeks to solve many of the\nlogistical challenges associated with moving people and goods (commuter,\ncharter, medical transport, cargo).
