The Iowa Transportation Commission has approved $10 million\nfor the Commercial Service Terminal Program. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commercial Service Terminal Program will provide $10\nmillion for commercial service airport terminal improvements. The program is\nfunded through an appropriation from the Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund. To\nbe eligible, applicant airports were required to provide a 90 percent local\nmatch that did not include the use of federal funds. A grant was awarded toward\nthe new airport terminal at the Des Moines International Airport (DSM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iowa DOT Aviation Director Tim McClung notes the new airport\nterminal project at DSM will replace an outdated terminal and add six new gates\nto increase capacity. \u201cAirports are critical to supporting Iowa\u2019s economy. This\nenhancement will improve the passenger experience and will better position the\nairport to meet air service demands for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
