In its grand tradition, The Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton\n(RCDBR) presented its eighth Annual Boca Raton Mayors Ball last Saturday, November\n11th at Boca West Country Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year Boca Raton\u2019s business leaders and community\ninnovators attend this marvelous event that honors the City\u2019s historic iconic\nmilestones and pays homage to all those, past and present, who have helped make\nBoca Raton the best place to live, work, learn, visit, heal and raise a family.\nEvent proceeds fund the Club\u2019s \u201cService Above Self\u201d grant program that supports\nthe health and wellness needs of Boca Raton nonprofits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highlight of this year’s gala was the presentation of\nthe George Long Awards \u2013 named for the City\u2019s first appointed mayor in 1924 and\nwas presented by club members and Co-Chairs Alex and Jessie Price and Jon and\nBonnie Kaye whose firm Kaye Communications PR & Marketing produced the\nMayor’s Ball.  This year the Boca Raton\nAirport Authority was honored in recognition and celebration of their 75th\nanniversary and their continuing impact in the local community. The Airport\ncontributes $693 million annually to the local economy and the Airport and its\ntenants collectively employ over 4,843 individuals annually. Furthermore, the\nBoca Raton Airport Authority has been committed to the community through\nphilanthropic ventures such as scholarships to nurture future aviators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the Boca Raton Airport Authority, the Faulk\nCenter for Counseling was also honored for its outstanding nonprofit work,\nalong with philanthropist Marta Batmasian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
