Winners of the race were\nFrance team two, piloted by Eric Decellieres and Benoit Havret, who traveled\n2,661.40 kilometers before landing in Jacksonville, North Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/ABQ-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27081\" width=\"179\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ABQ-5.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ABQ-5-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 179px) 100vw, 179px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Balloon Competition Winners: The first prize in the hot air\noverall competition was awarded to David Strasmann of Switzerland. Second\noverall highest score went to Joe Zvada of Texas, third to Joe Heartsill of\nTexas and fourth to Tomas Hora of the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remote Control Balloons &#8211; On Wednesday, October 11, Balloon\nFiesta set a new Guinness World Record for the \u201cLargest Display of Model Hot\nAir Balloons\u201d of 55 balloons. The new record of 58 model hot air balloons (also\nknown as Remote Control Balloons) was set by the Balloon Fiesta when they were\non all display at one time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Navigators: 1,134 Navigators volunteered during this year\u2019s\nevent. Navigators (not including chase crew) are volunteers who provide guest\nservices, administrative services, balloon coordination and safety, set-up and\nlogistics, and more in over 40 different areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>X Marks the Spot: Landowners picked up over 800 X-Packs to\nmark their land as an approved spot for balloonists to land during this year\u2019s\nevent. There were also many, colored sheets that were displayed to indicate the\nland was open for landings. X Marks the Spot is sponsored by the Albuquerque\nHispano Chamber of Commerce.
