He recently\nserved as acting FAA Administrator and is currently the Chief Safety Officer at\nArcher Aviation Inc., a leading air mobility company known for developing\nelectric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. While at the FAA, Mr.\nNolen revamped certification requirements and airport-focused safety management\nsystems and earlier served as the FAA\u2019s Associate Administrator for Aviation\nSafety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Nolen\u2019s aviation experience began during his service in\nthe U.S. Army, where he was an airplane and helicopter pilot and a safety\nofficer. Following his military experience, Mr. Nolen moved into commercial\naviation, becoming a pilot for American Airlines. There, Nolen transitioned to\nmanaging the company\u2019s Operations Aviation Safety Action Partnership program\nbefore assuming a Senior Manager of Flight Safety position. He transitioned to\nAirlines for America, where he was the Senior Vice President of Safety,\nSecurity, and Operations, and to Qantas Group, where he was the Executive\nManager of Group Safety and Health. Nolen later joined WestJet as Vice\nPresident of Safety, Security, and Quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMr. Nolen brings a unique combination of commercial,\ngovernment, and military expertise in aviation and a vison for the future of\nthe industry. He will add to the breadth of experience we have on our Board and\nhelp guide the continued execution of our strategy,\u201d said John M.
