Today, he is a\nleader at a company engaged in the advanced air mobility sector with a keen\nunderstanding of what is needed to bring this new and exciting sector to\nfruition. These experiences, combined with his demonstrated leadership and\nmanagement skills should make him an effective leader for the FAA at a critical\nmoment for our nation\u2019s airports, airlines, and aviation-related businesses.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michael G. Whitaker is currently the chief operating officer\nof Supernal, a Hyundai Motor Group company designing an electric advanced air\nmobility (AAM) vehicle. In this role, Whitaker overseas all commercial and key\nbusiness operations. Previously, Whitaker served as FAA Deputy Administrator\nfrom 2013\u20132016. There, he brought industry and government together to drive the\ntransition of the nation\u2019s air traffic control system from radar to a\nsatellite-enabled surveillance technology (ABS-B).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NASAO sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/files.constantcontact.com\/cdee16fb001\/5950085b-3978-42fa-839b-972f352beb2f.pdf?rdr=true\">letter of support<\/a> to the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.
