Deliveries of the aircraft are expected to begin in the first half of 2024. The anticipated initial fleet delivery demonstrates progress in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.surfair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/19234844\/Press-Release-Surf-Air-Mobility-and-Textron-Aviation-enter-into-exclusive-relationship-to-electrify-the-Cessna-Grand-Caravan-1.pdf\">exclusive relationship<\/a> between the two companies supporting Surf Air Mobility\u2019s development of an electrified Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.surfair.com\/\">Surf Air<\/a> Mobility has announced its intention that the Cessna Grand Caravan EX single-engine turboprops will be upgraded to Surf Air Mobility\u2019s proprietary electric or hybrid-electric powertrain technology. Surf Air Mobility is targeting FAA supplemental type certification in 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to see Surf Air\u2019s progress in expanding\ntheir fleet with deliveries expected to begin early next year,\u201d said Lannie O\u2019Bannion,\nsenior vice president, Global Sales and Flight Operations. \u201cThe Cessna\nCaravan\u2019s adaptability for passenger and cargo operations makes it an ideal\nplatform for hybrid electric and electric propulsion innovations. This\nexclusive relationship demonstrates Textron Aviation\u2019s commitment to the future\nof sustainable flight.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Surf Air Mobility anticipates that the hybrid electric\nCessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft will be utilized by Surf Air Mobility across\nits own network, connecting more airports with short-haul direct service across\nthe U.S. on a path to creating a regional mass transport platform to\nsustainably connect communities.
