{"id":26715,"date":"2023-09-25T15:49:51","date_gmt":"2023-09-25T15:49:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=26715"},"modified":"2023-09-25T15:49:53","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T15:49:53","slug":"auvsi-commends-bvlos-exemption-for-zipline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/unmanned-systems\/auvsi-commends-bvlos-exemption-for-zipline\/%20","title":{"rendered":"AUVSI Commends BVLOS Exemption for Zipline"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) applauded the Federal Aviation Administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/newsroom\/faa-authorizes-zipline-deliver-commercial-packages-beyond-line-sight\">grant<\/a> of an exemption to Zipline to conduct commercial drone operations beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/AUVSI-comments-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26716\" width=\"225\" height=\"215\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AUVSI-comments-edit.jpg 627w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AUVSI-comments-edit-300x288.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Advocacy Officer Michael Robbins issued the following\nstatement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cZipline has proven its ability to provide critical services\nto the public with the highest degree of safety. We commend the FAA for issuing\nthis approval, which will address key needs in the health care and commercial\ndelivery sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The approval demonstrates the forward momentum of the U.S.\ncommercial drone industry. As BVLOS exemptions become commonplace, it will\nunlock time-sensitive delivery, support health systems\u2019 reach to patients, and\naddress equity gaps. Americans nationwide will benefit from this new future of\nhealth care logistics.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FAA\u2019s grant of the exemption follows similar exemptions granted in recent weeks to Phoenix Air Unmanned, uAvionix, and UPS Flight Forward. In June, AUVSI submitted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.auvsi.org\/industry-news\/blog\/auvsi-submits-bvlos-comments\">comments<\/a> to the Federal Register in support for all four companies\u2019 exemption requests.
