The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) will award\nits John P. \u201cJack\u201d Doswell Award upon Nel Stubbs, a preeminent authority whose\nguidance has optimized the ownership and use of business aircraft for countless\nentrepreneurs and companies worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The association will present Stubbs with the award during\nNBAA\u2019s 2023 Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) taking\nplace Oct. 17-19 in Las Vegas, NV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNel\u2019s unequaled ability to analyze and articulate critical\nconsiderations for optimizing business aircraft use has been essential to\nsuccess for organizations of all types and sizes,\u201d said NBAA President and CEO\nEd Bolen. \u201cWe are pleased to present her with our Doswell Award in recognition\nof her outstanding contributions and service to the business aviation\ncommunity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stubbs is widely considered a foremost strategist in\naviation tax planning and audits, cost and financial analysis, budgeting, and\naircraft ownership and operating structures. She joined aviation research and\nconsulting firm Conklin & de Decker in 1999 and became an owner in 2000,\nremaining with the company when it was acquired by JSSI in April 2018. She\ncurrently serves as vice president of JSSI\u2019s Conklin & de Decker business\nunit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to her current role, Stubbs was a longtime employee of\nNBAA, joining the association in 1987 and becoming senior manager, tax issues\nin January 1993. In that position, she was instrumental in developing NBAA\u2019s\ntax program \u2013 including the association\u2019s State Tax Report, which remains an\nindustry standard \u2013 as well as in forming the NBAA Tax Committee, on which she\nserved as initial staff liaison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stubbs currently serves on the National Air Transportation\nAssociation\u2019s (NATA\u2019s) Air Charter Committee, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical\nUniversity\u2019s Business Industry Advisory Board and the NBAA Tax Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has previously served on the NBAA Advisory Board,\nHelicopter Association International\u2019s (HAI\u2019s) Finance and Leasing Committee\nand on boards of directors for the National Aircraft Finance Association (NAFA)\nand the Arizona Business Aviation Association (AZBAA). Stubbs also is a\nfrequently requested speaker at industry seminars and forums and has been\nwidely published in the aviation trade press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Created in 1987 in memory of John P. \u201cJack\u201d Doswell, a\nsteadfast industry advocate and business aviation pioneer, NBAA\u2019s Doswell Award\nhonors high standards for lifelong individual achievement on behalf and in\nsupport of the aims, goals and objectives of business aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
