Over 21 months, these students completed\nAIM&#8217;s training program, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to begin a\ncareer in the aviation industry.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, AIM and American Airlines announced an innovative\npartnership to train and hire the next generation of aviation maintenance\ntechnicians. Top candidates from AIM\u2019s Chicago campus, including today\u2019s\ngraduates, are guaranteed interviews with American upon graduation, and\nstudents have access to the airline\u2019s team of aviation maintenance\nprofessionals and maintenance facilities through engagement opportunities while\nenrolled at AIM. Aviation maintenance technicians from American also mentored\nthe student team from AIM Chicago for the 2023 Aerospace Maintenance\nCompetition, where the team placed first in a student team event.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe relationship that AIM has built with American Airlines\nis incredibly important to our students and the community of Chicago,\u201d said Dr.\nJoel English, Executive VP of the institution. \u201cAmerican has donated aircraft\nengines, tools and technologies, and countless hours of time spent with our\nstudents. Now that our first graduates are becoming certified and ready for\nemployment, we are thrilled to be able to provide American with certified\ntechnicians to join their workforce.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continuing to build upon this partnership, AIM unveiled an\nAmerican Airlines-branded classroom during the recent graduation ceremony. The\nclassroom will serve as a hub for hands-on training and practical experience,\nfurther enhancing the educational opportunities available to AIM students.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAmerican is thrilled for AIM\u2019s first class of graduates who\nnot only completed some of the most robust and meticulous aviation maintenance\ntraining, but also partnered with American\u2019s maintenance experts for additional\npractical training and mentoring,\u201d said Evie Garces, Vice President of Line\nMaintenance at American Airlines. \u201cToday is only the beginning, though. We look\nforward to seeing these remarkable graduates \u2014 the next generation of aviation\nmaintenance professionals \u2014 at the interview table, and eventually in our\nhangars.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremony and classroom unveiling are significant\nlandmarks for AIM&#8217;s Chicago campus. As the first graduating class, these\nstudents have paved the way for future generations of aviation professionals in\nthe region.
