A Heliport\nPlanning and Evaluation Course is being offered by the U.S. DOT Transportation\nSafety Institute on September 12-14, 2023, in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the Embassy\nSuites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nthree-day Heliport Design course is designed to provide attendees with an understanding\nof the evaluation process and the skills necessary to complete an evaluation of\na proposed or existing heliport. The instruction is offered by Pilots and FAA\nInspectors experienced in heliport evaluations and operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Instruction\nincludes both classroom lecture and several \u201chands-on\u201d practical exercises. The\ncourse includes a detailed review of the evaluation criteria, worksheets, and\nadministrative tools available to the inspector, preparation of the evaluation\nreport, and hands-on instruction in the operation of the tools used in the\ntypical evaluation. The training culminates in the evaluation of a ground-based\nand local heliport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who Should Attend<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Aeronautics Division of State\u2019s Department of\nTransportation and local municipality\u2019s authority having jurisdiction (AHJ)\n(i.e., fire marshal). The applicant\/owner, safety managers, operators,\ncontractor or Architectural and Engineering (A&E) professionals. FAA Flight\nStandards Aviation Safety Inspectors or Airspace Systems Inspection Pilot, and\nProcedure Evaluation Pilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
