Funded by the FAA through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), the demonstration included a week-long series of flights in Northern California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe flight tests conducted by Reliable Robotics highlighted\nthe ability for new aircraft systems to interact with third-party service\nproviders and seamlessly integrate into future airspace environments, and\nprovided critical data for future operations,\u201d said Diana Liang, Enterprise\nPortfolio Manager at the FAA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The test construct demonstrated Reliable\u2019s ability to execute vectoring, airspeed diverts, and fly under various simulated weather conditions in simulated Class B airspace. Reliable shared aircraft telemetry through the company\u2019s control center to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onesky.xyz\/\">OneSky<\/a>, a third-party service provider, who in turn transmitted the data to the FAA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/about\/office_org\/headquarters_offices\/ang\/offices\/tc\/activities\/niec\">NextGen Integration &amp; Evaluation Capability<\/a> (NIEC) research lab. FAA air traffic controllers participated in the test and provided the FAA NextGen program office with critical validation and insights for its UAM Conops 2.0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCollaborating with the FAA on demonstrations like this will\nhelp enable the future of mobility and the evolution of our airspace to\naccommodate new aircraft systems,\u201c said Davis Hackenberg, VP of Government\nPartnerships at Reliable Robotics. \u201cWatching our system successfully operate in\na live test environment is exciting, and we are proud to help pave the way for\nfuture integration of large uncrewed aircraft.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reliable\u2019s system will improve aviation safety and prevent common causes of accidents such as controlled flight into terrain, and loss of control, by enabling continuous autopilot engagement through taxi, takeoff and landing.
