EAA Photo.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now in its sixteenth year, WomenVenture, a week-long social\nand networking event for women during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, continues to attract\nwomen who are part of the aviation community and who gather to be inspired, to\nnetwork, and to have fun together at the Oshkosh airshow. Women in Aviation\nInternational (WAI) kicked off WomenVenture Wednesday with WAI\u2019s annual WAI\nConnect Breakfast followed by the WomenVenture annual group photo on Boeing\nPlaza with thousands of women in attendance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Royal-Schoen-WAI-speakeredit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26293\" width=\"226\" height=\"205\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Royal-Schoen-WAI-speakeredit.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Royal-Schoen-WAI-speakeredit-300x273.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><figcaption><em>Royal Shoen<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>WAI\u2019s Connect Breakfast, sponsored by Avemco and United\nAirlines, was attended by over 350 enthusiastic participants, whose passion\ncould not be washed out by strong thunderstorms and rain. Royal Shoen, a\ngeneral aviation advocate and an aircraft owner with commercial and instrument\ncertificates, shared her inspiring story and encouraged young women to pursue\ntheir aviation dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the week-long #OSH23, WAI hosted a panel discussion\non \u201cInspiring Tomorrow\u2019s Female Aviator\u201d and met with hundreds of new and\ncurrent members at both WAI booth locations in Hangar B-2041 and the\nWomenVenture Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stephanie-Kenyon-Iterim-CEO-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26294\" width=\"131\" height=\"209\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stephanie-Kenyon-Iterim-CEO-edit.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stephanie-Kenyon-Iterim-CEO-edit-187x300.jpg 187w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 131px) 100vw, 131px\" \/><figcaption><em>Stephanie Kenyon<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a very busy and productive week for WAI during EAA\nAirVenture Oshkosh highlighted by our successful Connect Breakfast and numerous\nmeetups with our members and allies,\u201d WAI Interim CEO Stephanie Kenyon said.\n\u201cThe WAI team and enthusiastic volunteers had a fantastic week connecting with\nmembers and encouraging them to join a WAI Chapter near them, get a mentor or\nbe a mentor with WAI\u2019s new Mentor Connect program, apply for WAI\u2019s upcoming\nround of scholarships (the value of which is nearing $1M), and join in the\ninspirational Girls in Aviation Day events on September 23, 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Photo above &#8211; The backdrop for this year\u2019s photo, during EAA\u2019s 75th AirVenture, was the Boeing Dreamlifter operated by Atlas Air.
