With over 25 years\nof experience in the aviation industry, Smith\u2019s expertise in aviation system\nplanning, airport development, program funding policy and allocation, and\nsafety regulations specific to Florida will help Woolpert provide\ninfrastructure and operational improvements for its general aviation and\ncommercial airport clients throughout the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Aaron-Smith-Woolpert-234x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26113\" width=\"175\" height=\"224\"\/><figcaption><em>Aaron Smith<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt feels good to be able to continue serving Florida in\nthis next chapter of my career,\u201d Smith said. \u201cWith Woolpert, I\u2019m looking\nforward to building upon my longstanding relationships with the state\u2019s\ncommunity of public and private sector aviation professionals, working in\npartnership to ensure Florida maintains its reputation as a worldwide leader in\naviation and aerospace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At FDOT, Smith earned numerous awards, earning the Florida\nAirports Council\u2019s Aviation Leadership Award and being named the FDOT Division of\nStrategic Development Leader of the Year. He led the state\u2019s $250 million\nannual aviation infrastructure program and directed the development and\nimplementation of a five-year, $1.5 billion infrastructure work program. A\nlongtime member of the American Association of Airport Executives, Smith also\nserved as FDOT\u2019s representative to local, state, and federal agencies, boards,\nand industry associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWoolpert\u2019s aviation practice has been built on a bedrock of\nunique and diverse experiences and backgrounds.
