Becca, who has been serving\nas Interim Director for the Division, brings a wealth of experience to this\nrole, having served NCDOT in a variety of capacities, including in the Chief\nEngineer\u2019s Office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Rebecca-Gallas.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26026\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Rebecca-Gallas.jpg 200w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Rebecca-Gallas-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Rebecca-Gallas-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><figcaption><em>Rebecca Gallas<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I am excited to lead NCDOT&#8217;s Aviation team and shape\nthe future of flight in our state,\u201d said Ms. Gallas. \u201cI believe that aviation\nis a powerful force for economic growth, and I am committed to working with our\nairports and partners to ensure that our state builds upon our vibrant Aviation\nheritage.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gallas has a proven track record of success in leading and\nmanaging complex organizational projects and diverse teams, noted Julie White,\nDeputy Secretary for Multimodal Transportation for NCDOT. \u201cI am confident that\nshe will continue to be an asset to the Department and to our aviation\npartners.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During her interim role, she advocated for North Carolina\nairports on Capitol Hill in the FAA reauthorization, launched the Advance\nMobility NC program at AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2023, and supported the Airport\nDevelopment team in realizing their goal of returning to full staffing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gallas has a strong commitment to partnership and quality\ncustomer service, which she plans to demonstrate by visiting most of state\u2019s 72\nairports in the next fiscal year to understand the unique challenges each\nairport faces.
