The City of Phoenix has notified the CEO and Board of the\nPhoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (PMGAA) that effective June 30, 2024, it\nwill conclude its membership with the PMGAA. Phoenix joined the PMGAA Board on\nMay 22, 2006, as the 5th member of the Authority. The City of Phoenix has\ninvested in-kind services, and to date has contributed more than $25 million to\nsupport the growth and development of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. Thanks\nto the Board\u2019s leadership, the airport has excelled and is now well positioned\nfor long-term growth and success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGiven the Phoenix-Mesa Airport Authority\u2019s strength and\nfinancial solvency, as well as Phoenix\u2019s need to continue making financial\ninvestments in its own system of airports, now is the right time to conclude\nparticipation on the PMGAA Board,\u201d said Phoenix City Councilman Jim Waring, who\nalso serves as the current Vice-Chair of the PMGAA Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phoenix is providing the PMGAA a full year\u2019s notice to help\nensure an orderly transition and provide the Authority ample time to account\nfor the reduction in member contributions associated with the City of Phoenix\ndeparture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
