The Commander’s Commendation Award is awarded for\noutstanding duty performance where achievement and services are clearly and\nunmistakably exceptional compared to similar achievements and service of\nmembers of like rank and responsibility. The Commendation may be awarded only\nto those who clearly stand out from the others and who contributed most to the\nsuccess of the overall program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
2nd Lt Forcier, who was recently promoted to her current\nrank, serves multiple roles in the Squadron, including Recruiting Officer,\nInformation Technology Officer, and Assistant Public Affairs Officer. She also\nserves as VTWG Assistant Finance Officer. Lt Forcier joined Burlington Senior\nSquadron in October 2022, following her introduction to CAP at an Vermont Air\nNational Guard Open House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Wing and certainly Burlington Senior Squadron stands in\nawe of Lt Forcier\u2019s drive, as well as her passion for both excellence and\nservice to our cadets and senior members,\u201d said Col Beach. \u201cHer contributions\nhave made a substantial difference in the Wing\u2019s performance across numerous\nareas, including recruitment, communications, and most importantly, our\nemergency services capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt Forcier\u2019s accomplishments have included: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf Qualifying\nin several aircrew roles: Mission Scanner and Airborne Photographer, as well as\nbase operations role Mission Staff Assistant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf Organization\nof and greater accessibility to information and training resources for the\nBurlington Senior Squadron members, a portal which has become an enormous asset\nand center point for the unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf Creation\nand launch of the public Burlington Senior Squadron website\n(burlingtonvt.cap.gov), and design support for the Vermont Wing website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf Updating\nthe Squadron\u2019s online tools for recruitment, with a focus on \u201cVolunteer Match\u201d\n(volunteermatch.org) listings, a network connecting volunteers with nonprofit\norganizations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf Ongoing,\nhigh quality photographic documentation of many of the Squadron\u2019s and Wing\u2019s\nactivities for training, public affairs, aerospace education and other\napplications, including providing video footage used by WCAX-TV of Green\nMountain Composite Squadron (VT-006) cadet participation in \u201cWreaths Across\nAmerica\u201d ceremony. The wreath-laying ceremony in Colchester was one of thousands organized each year\nduring the Christmas season to honor and remember our nation\u2019s fallen at\nveterans\u2019 cemeteries nationwide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Valuable enhancements to the Wing\u2019s\u00c2\u00a0airborne\u00c2\u00a0photography instructional materials, including detailed training to members on digital photography and the Squadron\u2019s camera equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A native Vermonter, Lt Forcier draws on more than twenty years of photography experience to support her work in CAP, where aerial photos are needed for agencies like FEMA for evaluations and assessments. \u201cWith such an emphasis on imagery, I feel like I can really be an asset and make a difference supporting other members and our missions,\u201d she commented. \u201cThere are also seemingly endless and fun opportunities to learn and contribute in other ways as well.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt Forcier credits a\nlove of aviation and a desire to be prepared to be of service to her community\nfor her commitment. She is currently working on additional aircrew training,\nbecoming a qualified small unmanned aerial system operator for CAP, and is interested\nin Civil Air Patrol\u2019s Geospatial program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
