Over 30 years ago, Foster was a founding member of the\nNational Aircraft Resale Association, IADA’s predecessor organization. The\nassociation\u2019s Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Foster at IADA\u2019s\nannual spring meeting attended by more than 300 of his peers from throughout\nthe global industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John Foster’s Mantra: Do the Right Thing, Always<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cJohn Foster is an icon who is trusted, admired and emulated\nthroughout the entire business aircraft resale industry,\u201d said IADA Executive\nDirector Wayne Starling, who presented Foster with the award. \u201cA decorated Navy\npilot, he successfully transitioned to general aviation and became a truly\nrespected, very successful and well-known entrepreneur in private aviation.\nJohn Foster\u2019s mantra has always been, \u2018Do the right thing, always,\u2019\u201d added\nStarling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Foster remains active at OGARAJETS, which he co-founded and\nis now headed by his son Johnny Foster. The Lifetime Achievement Award\nrecognizes John Foster’s exemplary embodiment of IADA’s purpose and mission\nthroughout his career. Foster is also a founding member, and past president, of\nthe National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Foster\u2019s resale industry business practices have helped to\ninfluence and shape the entire aircraft transaction industry. Foster and IADA’s\nshared mission is to be the acknowledged leader in developing standards for\nefficient, effective and ethical business aircraft transactions, valued by\nhighly skilled aircraft transaction professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n John, his wife Linda and family, have lived in Atlanta since\n1973. The family is involved in their church and community, and have always\nbeen drawn to hiking, skiing, tennis and outdoor activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Legacy of Service<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Following his service in the Vietnam War, decorated Navy\ncarrier fighter pilot John Foster III moved from the military to join the\ngeneral aviation community in 1973. He initially worked at Atlantic Aviation\nand Rockwell aircraft sales, and later became a leading sales representative at\nBeechcraft. In 1980, John and his squadron-mate and close friend, Ed O\u2019Gara,\nfounded O\u2019Gara Aviation Company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The company enjoyed steady growth over the decades. Today,\nthe OGARAJETS team provides a full range of aircraft brokerage, private jet\nacquisitions, management, leasing and operational services for its growing list\nof clients in the U.S. and around the globe.
