(U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Stormy Archer)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Air Force\u2019s Air Education and Training Command has a\nmuch wider reach than even most aviation enthusiasts would imagine, which makes\nAirVenture an outstanding location to highlight all of the command\u2019s\ncapabilities,\u201d said Rick Larsen, EAA\u2019s vice president of communities and member\nprograms, who coordinates AirVenture features and attractions. \u201cThose\ncapabilities will be showcased in the air and during ground presentations\nthroughout the week at Oshkosh.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Final announcements on participating aircraft and activities\nwill be announced as they are finalized but will include aircraft from\nthroughout the Air Force. Along with aircraft displays and aerial\ndemonstrations, AETC will feature diverse elements such as critical care air\ntransport with a C-17, military working dogs, and explosive ordinance disposal.\nThe Air Force\u2019s Band of the West will also perform during the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAETC is referred to as the First Command because nearly\nevery Airman starts at AETC, and we\u2019re proud to be responsible for establishing\nthe foundation for so many Air Force careers,\u201d said U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen.\nBrian Robinson, AETC commander. \u201cAcross basic military training, technical\ntraining and pilot training, our force generators are developing empowered\nAirmen who are advancing the U.S. Air Force\u2019s strategic advantage to defeat our\ncompetitors. Oshkosh is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase AETC\u2019s\nmembers and how we recruit, training, and educate the Airmen our nation needs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Air Education and Training Command, with headquarters at\nJoint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, was established and activated in\nJanuary 1942, making it the oldest major command in the Air Force. AETC\u2019s\ntraining mission makes it the first command to touch the lives of nearly every\nAir Force member.
