The 70th edition of the Experimental Aircraft\nAssociation\u2019s fly-in convention is July 24-30 at Wittman Regional Airport in\nOshkosh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The twice daily series of \u201cup close and personal\u201d stories\nwill be held July 24-29 at the Warbirds in Review aircraft ramp, located within\nthe EAA Warbirds of America area on the AirVenture grounds. The series is open\nto all attending AirVenture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9965edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25712\" width=\"366\" height=\"244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9965edit.jpg 400w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9965edit-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 366px) 100vw, 366px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWarbirds in Review features veterans, aviation legends, and\naircraft that simply cannot be seen together in one place anywhere else in the\nworld,\u201d said Connie Bowlin, past president of the EAA Warbirds of America, who\norganizes the series. \u201cMany of these veterans maintain that they were just\ndoing their jobs and nothing heroic or extraordinary, but that could not be\nfarther from the truth. Their stories and unique perspectives on the aircraft\nshowcased at Oshkosh are insightful, poignant, and important for the public to\nhear.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft and personalities at Warbirds in Review this\nyear include four World War II veterans, two from the Korean War, five from the\nVietnam War, and one from military actions in Afghanistan. The schedule as of\nMay 1, 2023 (subject to change without notice):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monday, July 24<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10 a.m.: Piper L-4 Grasshopper \u201cRosie the Rocketer\u201d with Rob\nCollings, Joe Scheil, Carol Carpenter Apacki, and Jim Busha<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 p.m.: Walt Ohlrich\u2019s North American SNJ-N502, with John\n\u201cPappy\u201d Mazza<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tuesday, July 25<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10 a.m.: McDonnell Douglas F-18 Hornet and Naval Aircraft\nFactory N3N, with Tammie Jo Shults<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 p.m.: P-51B and P-51D \u201cOld Crow\u201d Mustangs, with Brig.
