Attendees will enjoy access to a new Citation Ascend mockup\ndebuting during the show. Currently under development, the aircraft is expected\nto enter into service in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOf the Citation family, there\u2019s none more flown than the\nCitation 560XL series. With an 560XL aircraft taking off or landing every two\nminutes somewhere in the world, this aircraft will be part of the most\nsuccessful business jet family,\u201d said Ron Draper, president and CEO, Textron\nAviation. \u201cOn behalf of our teams, we are proud to announce the latest\ninnovation in the Citation family \u2014 the new Cessna Citation Ascend. We asked\ncustomers what they wanted in the next evolution of this iconic aircraft, and we\nbelieve the Citation Ascend will deliver.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether flying for charter services, personal transportation\nor corporate flight departments, the Ascend is designed to lead the market in\nperformance and cabin experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A jet that means business<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/484744-Cockpit-high-res-displays-2cfc75-original-1684357210-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/484744-Cockpit-high-res-displays-2cfc75-original-1684357210-edit.jpg 550w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/484744-Cockpit-high-res-displays-2cfc75-original-1684357210-edit-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cessna Citation Ascend will offer state-of-the-art\nGarmin G5000 avionics featuring the latest software and hardware, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Autothrottle technology to reduce pilot workload\nand provide flight-envelope protection<\/li><li>Three large, 14-inch ultra high-resolution\ndisplays with split-screen capabilities<\/li><li>Standard dual flight management systems<\/li><li>Synthetic vision to render obstacles like\nmountains or terrain<\/li><li>Cockpit voice and data satellite transceiver to\nmake satellite calls from the cockpit<\/li><li>New Garmin advanced weather detection and\navoidance technology<\/li><li>Second Iridium data radio and CPDLC to support\ncustomers with more direct routing between North America and Europe (optional)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Citation Ascend will give operators versatility and\nflexibility to accomplish any mission, now and in the future. Customers will\nalso enjoy many of the luxuries found in the bestselling Citation Latitude and\nflagship Citation Longitude. This is made easier with a common Garmin cockpit,\nan important feature for customers who operate multiple Citations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The pinnacle of efficiency and productivity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Citation Ascend will offer Pratt &amp; Whitney Canada\nPW545D engines designed to deliver better fuel efficiency, increased thrust and\nlonger time-on-wing. The engines use new materials and technology \u2014 including a\nmore efficient high-pressure compressor, an enhanced single stage high-pressure\nturbine module, and an upgraded exhaust mixer. The PW545D engines are also\nequipped with a Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC), enabling the new\nautothrottle technology and ensuring they operate at their maximum efficiency\nand with reduced pilot workload.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preliminary performance targets indicate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A four-passenger range of 1,900 nm at high-speed\ncruise power (with an estimated maximum range of 2,100 nm)<\/li><li>Cruise at 441 kts<\/li><li>And the ability to climb direct to 45,000 ft<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Design improvements on the aircraft deliver the ability to\ncarry a higher combination of payload and fuel load while retaining access to\nshort runways. With four passengers at high-speed cruise power, customers will\nenjoy trips such as London City, UK, to Athens, Greece; Helsinki, Finland, to\nPorto, Portugal; or La Mole, France, to Prague, Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Cessna Citation Ascend builds upon more than 20 years\nof the 560XL series success in the market,\u201d said Lannie O\u2019Bannion, senior vice\npresident, Global Sales and Flight Operations. \u201cIt\u2019s designed to outperform and\ntake our customers further in style.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Citation Ascend will include an unattended Honeywell\nRE100 [XL] Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) with self-management and added bleed leak\ndetection. The company worked with a\nCustomer Advisory Board of owners, pilots, mechanics and passengers throughout\nthe design process to better understand what they seek in the ultimate aircraft\nexperience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a fully customizable interior, customers can select\nfrom a range of standard and optional features to best meet their needs. The\naircraft will include a flat floor to provide a new level of generous legroom\nand flexibility for passengers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe flat floor is a game changer when it comes to comfort,\u201d\nsaid Christi Tannahill, senior vice president, Customer Experience. \u201cThe design\ngives passengers more room to swivel their seats, stretch their legs and\ncomfortably move around the cabin.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/484741-VIP-Seat-fac406-original-1684357209-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25634\" width=\"229\" height=\"235\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/484741-VIP-Seat-fac406-original-1684357209-edit.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/484741-VIP-Seat-fac406-original-1684357209-edit-292x300.jpg 292w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 229px) 100vw, 229px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Textron Aviation designed the Citation Ascend seats based on\ncustomer feedback for ultimate comfort, placing passengers in an optimized seated\nposture. When designing their aircraft interior, customers can even select the\nlevel of cushion firmness. The aircraft has a standard seating configuration of\nnine passengers and will have a maximum seating capacity of 12 passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main cabin seats will feature an electrically controlled\nrelease for swivel and tracking on the seat pedestal. Optional seat quilting,\nfootrests, and electrically controlled lumbar support make relaxing easy while\nside-facing seats will feature fold-down seat backs to provide additional\nin-flight accessible storage space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, for an even more enjoyable experience, customers\nwill be able to wirelessly control the cabin lighting, temperature, window\nshades and onboard entertainment. They can also select an optional Bongiovi\nsound system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New windows and better views<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/484750-Larger-cabin-windows-53f289-original-1684357213-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25633\" width=\"324\" height=\"182\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/484750-Larger-cabin-windows-53f289-original-1684357213-edit.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/484750-Larger-cabin-windows-53f289-original-1684357213-edit-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 324px) 100vw, 324px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Citation Ascend will include all-new cabin windows that\nare nearly 15 percent larger and offer more natural light with translucent and\nopaque shade settings, wireless shade control, and optional lighted window\nrings to enhance the cabin\u2019s illumination and mood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To keep customers connected at all times, the Citation\nAscend will include standard GoGo U.S. Avance L3 Max Wi-Fi and optional U.S.\nAvance L5 Wi-Fi. The aircraft also offers Optional Aviator 300 for Wi-Fi and\nworldwide calling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Citation Ascend will have power at every seat. With 19\nstandard USB charging ports throughout the aircraft, all crew and passengers\nwill enjoy access to at least one charging port, first-in-class wireless phone\ncharging and three standard universal outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the best customer experience, the aircraft will\ninclude an advanced acoustic treatment system to ensure a calm and peaceful\nflight, as found in the Citation Latitude. With sound levels similar to that of\ndriving a car down the highway, passengers can engage in conversations, work,\nor relax in an environment free of distractions. Textron Aviation expects the\naircraft to offer the following for customers enrolled in the company\u2019s\nPowerAdvantage program:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>18-month or 800-hour airframe maintenance\nintervals<\/li><li>6,000 hours between engine overhauls<\/li><li>3,000 hours hot section inspection<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft also will include more standard equipment to\nsupport troubleshooting, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An electronic engine chip detector<\/li><li>Pratt &amp; Whitney\u2019s FAST\u2122 box for full flight\ndata acquisition, storage and transmission<\/li><li>LinxUs and LinxUs Air for in-flight diagnostics\ntransmission<\/li><li>Textron Aviation\u2019s Aircraft Recording System,\ntracking over 9,000 parameters during operations to support troubleshooting and\ntrend monitoring<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Customers will enjoy a trifecta of superior warranties on\nthe engine, paint and interior for elevated peace of mind, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Five-year or 3,000-hour engine warranty<\/li><li>Two-year paint and interior warranties<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the aircraft will include design improvements based\non two decades of feedback from customers in the field, like a new wingtip for\ncleaner lines and edges, all LED lighting and a pylon work light over the\nbaggage area for easier loading at night. In addition, a new larger cockpit\nside window creates a modern ramp appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Citation Ascend will give customers more of what they\nneed to keep their aircraft operations running smoothly and efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Built with the world in mind<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like all Cessna and Beechcraft turbine products, the\nCitation Ascend will be able to run on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).\nCustomers will have the option to take delivery of their aircraft with SAF and\ncan refuel using SAF wherever available, including at the company\u2019s Wichita\nService Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company is committed to conscious manufacturing and\nfeatures sustainably sourced interior materials in the aircraft. Textron\nAviation also utilizes a robust recycling program and industrial wastewater\npretreatment plants. According to the company\u2019s energy supplier, Textron\nAviation used 100 percent renewable wind electricity to power all of its\nKansas-based facilities in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With more than 1,000 560XLs delivered throughout the past 25\nyears, fractional owners and charter operators consistently choose the Cessna\nCitation 560XL series for its unparalleled combination of performance, comfort,\nease of operation, range of mission capabilities and favorable operating\nefficiencies.
