Former ACE camp student and now owner of Pine Tree Helicopters out of SFM, Parker Montano, along with Sue Tholen and Rob Montgomery are spearheading the new camp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Maine-ACE-Camp-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25609\" width=\"296\" height=\"192\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Maine-ACE-Camp-1.jpg 450w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Maine-ACE-Camp-1-300x195.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 296px) 100vw, 296px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The new camp, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maineacecamp.org\/ace-camp-seacoast.html\">Maine ACE Camp Seacoast<\/a>, will be a day camp for ages 12 to 16 and will be held August 9 \u2013 12. \u00c2\u00a0Campers will be introduced to many different fun aspects of aviation, both military and civilian. They learn through classroom instruction, hands on activities, and many field trips. Weather permitting; campers will get to fly in at least one general aviation airplane during the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other two Maine ACE Camps are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maineacecamp.org\/ace-camp-midcoast.html\">ACE Camp Midcoast<\/a>, located at Brunswick Executive Airport and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maineacecamp.org\/ace-camp-north.html\">ACE Camp North<\/a>, located in Eddington, Maine near Bangor. Midcoast is a day camp similar to Seacoast and ACE Camp North is a over night camp. <strong>\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>  \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who attend ACE camps have the fortunate opportunity\nto see up close and first-hand how the aviation system works from the inside\nlooking out. They will tour many facilities and meet military and civilian\nexperts who are willing to share their knowledge and experience about what it\ntakes (and what NOT to do) to get into their career fields. This insight will\nenable them to prepare NOW for their future and plan their academic course\naccordingly based on their desired occupation. The U.S. aviation industry is\nthe most advanced, safest and professional system in the world, and remains\nthat way only because of the high standards each organization, business, and\nindividual maintains. All staff members and\nchaperones have strong aviation backgrounds as general aviation pilots,\ncommercial pilots, air traffic controllers, airframe and power plant\ntechnicians, and certified current Instrument and Flight Instructor ratings,\nboth for land and sea aircraft.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maine ACE Camp is adding a third location for this summer and will be based out of the Seacoast Regional Airport (SFM) in Sanford.
