As part of its growing effort to expand advanced drone\noperations in North Carolina, AeroX seeks information from companies equipped\nto provide Drone-in-a-Box solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Details of required capabilities, potential use cases, and submission requirements are outlined in the Request for Information<\/a> (RFI) issued today. Responses must be received by AeroX President Basil Yap via email to byap@ncaerox.com no later than May 25, 2023, 5 p.m. Eastern Time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n AeroX, and its partners, are particularly interested in\nexploring the potential of remotely piloted and beyond visual line of sight\n(BVLOS) operations from a drone-in-a-box solution. This RFI was created in\ncollaboration with two of its members, Duke Energy and Forsyth County Sheriff\u2019s\nOffice. Both have active UAS programs in North Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With the ability to fly autonomously and securely,\ndrone-in-a-box solutions can enable organizations to respond quickly in remote\nor hard-to-reach locations without risking the safety of personnel or waiting\nfor the drone and pilot to arrive. This can significantly improve the\nefficiency and effectiveness of critical tasks such as inspecting\ncommunications towers, highways, bridges, and buildings, ensuring the safe and\nreliable operation of energy and utility infrastructure, and responding to\npublic safety incidents in a timely and effective manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAeroX and our members are excited by the recent regulatory\napprovals for BVLOS operations from a Drone-in-a-Box,\u201d said AeroX President\nBasil Yap. \u201cWe see tremendous potential for our partners, building on their\nsuccess in using drones for energy and utility inspection and public safety.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
