Richard \u201cRick\u201d Estey, who also serves as Assistant\nDirector of Logistics for the Vermont Wing and the Squadron, joined CAP in\n1977, and earned his private pilot\u2019s license in 1982.&nbsp; He had served in various positions in the\nBurlington Senior Squadron and the Vermont Wing until 1983 when life and career\ndemands led to a nearly 40-year hiatus.&nbsp;\nAn encounter with a CAP recruiting display at a recent Vermont Air\nNational Guard (VTANG) open house rekindled his interest.&nbsp; Lt Estey is a 1981 graduate of UVM with a\ndegree in Business Administration and was most recently a partner on a family\ndairy farm in Bristol, Vt until his retirement in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2nd-Lt-Christine-Estey-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25531\" width=\"156\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2nd-Lt-Christine-Estey-edit.jpg 400w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2nd-Lt-Christine-Estey-edit-231x300.jpg 231w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 156px) 100vw, 156px\" \/><figcaption><em>2nd Lt Christine Estey, Burlington Senior Squadron, Vermont Wing, Civil Air Patrol.
