{"id":25526,"date":"2023-05-08T01:22:55","date_gmt":"2023-05-08T01:22:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=25526"},"modified":"2023-05-08T01:22:58","modified_gmt":"2023-05-08T01:22:58","slug":"faa-releases-airspace-blueprint-for-air-taxis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/faa-releases-airspace-blueprint-for-air-taxis\/%20","title":{"rendered":"FAA Releases Airspace Blueprint for Air Taxis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/air-taxis\/uam_blueprint\">updated blueprint<\/a> for airspace and procedure changes to accommodate future air taxis and other Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the blueprint, AAM operations will begin at a low rate\nwith air taxis flying much as helicopters do today. They\u2019ll use existing routes\nand infrastructure such as helipads and early vertiports. Pilots will\ncommunicate with air traffic controllers where required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the number of operations increases, air taxis are\nexpected to fly in corridors between major airports and vertiports in city\ncenters. The complexity of the corridors could increase over time from single\none-way paths to routes serving multiple flows of aircraft flying in both\ndirections. Over time, these corridors could link an increasing number of\nroutes between vertiports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FAA expects aircraft technology will evolve as well.\nAircraft automation and real-time data sharing between aircraft will likely\nplay increasing roles in these corridors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operational blueprint is a key step \u2014 along with\ncertifying the aircraft and pilots \u2014 in the FAA\u2019s effort to safely usher in and\nsupport this next era of aviation.
