The Utah Aerospace & Defense Association (UADA) and\nDeseret Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) have announced that they are consolidating\nefforts to better collaborate and advocate on behalf of Utah\u2019s aerospace and\ndefense industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

UADA will lead the organizations\u2019 respective efforts going\nforward, with Deseret UAS being restructured as UADA\u2019s newly created Advanced\nAviation and Technology Committee (AATC). Shawn Milne, Deseret UAS board chair,\nwill chair the AATC under the leadership of UADA President and CEO Aaron\nStarks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUADA and Deseret UAS\u2019 shared vision to foster the world\u2019s\npremier ecosystem for Utah\u2019s aerospace and defense companies seamlessly and\nsynergistically aligns, creating a unique opportunity for this collaborative\npartnership,\u201d said UADA President and CEO Aaron Starks. \u201cTogether, we will\nadvocate for policies, regulations, and research that directly support our members.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe whole-heartedly embrace a consolidation with UADA to\nkeep Utah\u2019s aerospace and defense industry at the forefront of the world\u2019s\ntechnological innovations,\u201d said Deseret UAS Chair Shawn Milne. \u201cThe United\nStates did not have roads or a national interstate system when Henry Ford built\nthe Model T. We will work proactively with UADA to support the uncrewed aerial\nvehicles and transportation systems that will be used for the roads of the\nfuture.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established in 2022, UADA is taking off literally and\nfiguratively. The fast-growing organization boasts dozens of members both in\nthe public and private sector, including Northrop Grumman, Fortem Technologies,\nHexcel, the Utah System of Higher Education, the Utah Governor\u2019s Office, and\nmany more. The organization\u2019s goal is simple: to ensure all companies in Utah\u2019s\naerospace and defense industry have the tools they need to succeed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
