{"id":25274,"date":"2023-04-03T20:11:26","date_gmt":"2023-04-03T20:11:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=25274"},"modified":"2023-04-03T20:11:28","modified_gmt":"2023-04-03T20:11:28","slug":"naa-selects-amy-spowart-as-president-and-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/naa-selects-amy-spowart-as-president-and-ceo\/%20","title":{"rendered":"NAA Selects Amy Spowart as President and CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Board of Directors of the National Aeronautic Association\n(NAA) announced the appointment of Amy Spowart as its new President and CEO.\nSpowart brings considerable association leadership experience and a\ntrack-record of developing proactive initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"172\" height=\"200\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amy-Spowart-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25275\"\/><figcaption><em>Amy Spowart<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAmy comes to the NAA with a background of visionary\nleadership and the ability to cultivate and strengthen strategic alliances. We\nhave no doubt she will take the NAA to a new level of national relevance,\u201d said\nboard chair Jim Albaugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her most recent role as President and CEO of the National\nAviation Hall of Fame (NAHF), Spowart successfully led the effort to\nsignificantly expand the reach of the not-for-profit from a regional focus to a\nnational level. Over her seven years as the NAHF leader, Spowart brought the\norganization current by developing processes and policies and providing agile\nchange management. She oversaw the formation of critical partnerships,\nincluding with PBS, to develop the STEAM-based educational and workforce\nprogram, Discovering Flight with the National Aviation Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe opportunity to continue celebrating aviation&#8217;s most\nimpactful people and their accomplishments is really exciting,\u201d said Spowart.\n\u201cI look forward to combining the knowledge I gained at the hall of fame with\nthe worthy mission of the nation&#8217;s oldest and most historically relevant\naviation association. The NAA is the established leader in celebrating aviation\nachievements. It\u2019s an honor to be chosen to ensure that the NAA remains the\nleading voice in recognizing the past and future of this innovative industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spowart will replace Greg Principato, who has served as the\nNAA President and CEO since 2016. Principato announced his retirement from the\nassociation in early March and will vacate the position this fall. Spowart will\nserve as the 33rd President of the NAA and the first female in the position in\nthe organization&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAmy has already impressed the board\u2019s Executive Committee\nwith her ideas and vision for the NAA.
