{"id":25220,"date":"2023-03-27T22:36:44","date_gmt":"2023-03-27T22:36:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=25220"},"modified":"2023-03-27T22:36:45","modified_gmt":"2023-03-27T22:36:45","slug":"eleven-roaring-fork-valley-students-receive-100000-in-scholarships-from-aspen-flight-academy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/colorado\/eleven-roaring-fork-valley-students-receive-100000-in-scholarships-from-aspen-flight-academy\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Eleven Roaring Fork Valley Students Receive $100,000 in Scholarships from Aspen Flight Academy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/aspenflightacademy.org\/\">Aspen Flight Academy<\/a> (AFA) in partnership with Atlantic Aviation, the operator of the Aspen FBO, will award a generous total of $100,000 in scholarships to 11 Roaring Fork Valley high school students to learn to fly and obtain their Private Pilot\u2019s Licenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Atlantic Aviation has been a supporter of the Aspen Flight\nAcademy since 2014 and announced the new scholarship program in October 2022.\nThe AFA\u2019s goal is to be inclusive, and 40 percent of their students are female.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAspen Flight Academy has over 100 high school students in\nthe program and operates three new airplanes. Three top graduates from the\nPurdue University Professional Flight Program are teaching and training our\nhigh school students how to become private pilots,\u201d said Jeff Posey, president\nof AFA and a pilot for over 30 years. \u201cWe are one of the top high school flight\nacademies in the U.S. and hope to continue our growth by partnering with\ncompanies like Atlantic Aviation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very proud to partner with Aspen Flight Academy to\nhelp grow our future aviators,\u201d noted Atlantic Aviation Aspen FBO Manager,\nJonathan Jones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is an amazing time to become a professional pilot,\u201d said\nMike Pearce, Chairman of the Board of the Aspen Flight Academy, and an American\nAirlines 777 Captain. \u201cThe industry is projected to need tens of thousands of\npilots in the next decade.
