According to Boeing, the Pilot\n(Airline Pilot Career) Outlook for 2017-2036 is: Pilot World Demand \u2013 637,000.\nThat is 31,850 per year, 87 per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Line-of-Sling-Planes-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25184\" width=\"298\" height=\"189\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Line-of-Sling-Planes-edit.jpg 800w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Line-of-Sling-Planes-edit-300x191.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 298px) 100vw, 298px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Sling Pilot Academy is the largest and most innovative\nflight school in the Los Angeles area, and SkyWest Airlines is the largest\nregional airline in the world. The Sling Pilot Academy Elite Partnership with\nSkyWest Airlines allows Sling Pilot Academy students to build seniority with\nthe airline when they start their training as students and provides them with a\n$15,000 tuition reimbursement after becoming a Pilot at SkyWest Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/zcsub-cmpzourl.campaign-view.com\/ua\/viewinbrowser?od=3z74617a6ce91ba02aad249b20f2009fbcbb950e61d5b7f4ad0f6628c6c99f05b2&amp;rd=16b95518d414668a&amp;sd=16b95518d41464f5&amp;n=11699e4c2eed905&amp;lkd=16b95518d4145d6d&amp;mrd=16b95518d41464dd&amp;vm=y\">Watch Video<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Area High School and College Students were invited to sign\nup for a free flight, and 200 people signed up. Because of the weather on the\nday, flights were not conducted, but were rescheduled for the weekend of March\n25th\/26th over 2 days, utilizing 15 Sling NGT (Next Generation Trainer)\nairplanes and 30 Flight Instructors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Student-in-Decathlon-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25185\" width=\"247\" height=\"185\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Student-in-Decathlon.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Student-in-Decathlon-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 247px) 100vw, 247px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Over 700 people attended the event that included a Simulator\nStation with 2 FAA-Certified AATD simulators and Flight Instructors giving\nlogged flight training to Students; a STEM station where Students were able to\nlearn about aircraft construction and pull a few rivets on real aircraft\nsub-assemblies; and a presentation by SkyWest Airlines about a career in the\nairlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following associations also attended to try to reach under-represented\nconstituent groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Women in Aviation<\/li><li>99&#8217;s<\/li><li>Professional Asian Pilots Association<\/li><li>Latino Pilots Association<\/li><li>Civil Air Patrol<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each Student received:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Student-Belle-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25186\" width=\"243\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Student-Belle-edit.jpg 408w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Student-Belle-edit-300x249.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 243px) 100vw, 243px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A free Introductory Flight Lesson<\/li><li>A free Simulator flight session<\/li><li>A Pilot logbook to log airplane and simulator\ntime (counts towards Pilot Certificate!)<\/li><li>A 1-hour presentation by SkyWest Airlines, the\nlargest regional airline in the world, on the state of the airline industry and\nthe pathway from High School to career<\/li><li>A tour of our aircraft manufacturing facility\nwhere students will have the opportunity for a hands-on experience<\/li><li>Free lunch provided by The Habit Burger Grill\nfood truck<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the event Sling Pilot Academy also announced winning an\nFAA Aviation Workforce Development Grant of around $500,000, which will be used\nto award full Private Pilot scholarships valued at around $17,000 to 25 area\nHigh School and College Students over the next 12 months (and 160 Remote Pilot\nCourses and Tests). 2 of the scholarships were awarded during the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On March 11th, 2023, Sling Pilot Academy held their &#8220;200 Free Flights&#8221; event to celebrate their Elite Partnership with SkyWest Airlines.
