Educators from across the globe gathered\nat Space Center Houston to hear from leading NASA experts and keynote speakers.\nThe National Coalition for Aviation and Space Education (NCASE) was one of many\nexhibitors at the event. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three-day conference welcomed K-12th grade instructors\nof all disciplines to explore topics in aerospace. Attendees enjoyed on-site\nand virtual tours, networking opportunities with space industry leaders and\nexhibitors, and received on-demand content earning up to 24 hours of continuing\neducation credit.&nbsp;   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3596-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25098\" width=\"274\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3596-edit.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3596-edit-300x274.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 274px) 100vw, 274px\" \/><figcaption><em>Pictured (left to right), Rol Murrow, Cindy Hasselbring from NASA Office of STEM Engagement, and Robin Thurman.<\/em> <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;NCASE was honored to exhibit at SEEC and meet with so\nmany educators and with representatives of the other organizations exhibiting\nor presenting at the conference,\u201d said Rol Murrow, NCASE President. \u201cTeachers\nand students have a hard time trying to identify useful resources on the\ninternet, and they were thrilled to find that NCASE acts as a national\nclearinghouse, making it easier for them to zero in on the resources they seek\nand the organizations that have them.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Educators heard from keynote speakers Mike Kincaid,\nAssociate Administrator at NASA Office of STEM Engagement; Megan McArthur,\nAstronaut and Chief Science Officer at Space Center Houston; and Andrew Aldrin,\nson of Apollo 11 and Gemini 12 astronaut Buzz Aldrin who serves as President of\nthe Aldrin Family Foundation. Guest panelists included Nancy Conrad, wife to\nlate astronaut Pete Conrad and founder of the Conrad Foundation, and CEO of\nBlue Origin, Bob Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAttending SEEC gave me an opportunity to talk to teachers,\nfrom around the world, about great careers in aviation and aerospace,\u201d said\nRobin Thurman, NCASE Board Member.&nbsp; I\nencouraged them to motivate students to take more STEM courses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/NASA-Johnson-Training-Center-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25099\" width=\"228\" height=\"272\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/NASA-Johnson-Training-Center-edit.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/NASA-Johnson-Training-Center-edit-251x300.jpg 251w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 228px) 100vw, 228px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of SEEC is to provide exciting new insights into\nwhat current science and human space exploration missions are achieving.\nEducators were able to access the latest teaching tools that will help fuel\ntheir students\u2019 passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new session, \u201cLeadership Track,\u201d reserved for school\nadministrators, was added to this year\u2019s conference encouraging participants to\nhear from the Human Performance Accelerator Lab (HPAL) \u2013 a transformative\nleadership program benefiting different groups of service.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SEEC is just one of Space Center Houston\u2019s signature\noutreach learning opportunities for STEM educators.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Space Center Houston hosted one of the nation\u2019s leading science educational opportunities for educators at the 29th Space Exploration Educators Conference (SEEC), Feb. 9-11.
