Department of Transportation\u2019s Division of Aviation\nannounced the winners of the 2023 North Carolina Aviation Art Contest this\nweek. The art contest is an annual competition hosted to inspire and engage\nyoung people in aviation. NCDOT received entries from 1,490 students in this\nyear\u2019s contest. The winning art can also be viewed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ncdot\/page2\">NCDOT Flickr site<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Judging was based on creativity, adherence to this year\u2019s\ntheme of \u201cAir Sports and the Environment,\u201d and technical quality. The N.C.\nAirports Association sponsors the statewide contest and provides cash prizes to\nthe winners and their schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/52708469084_bfabfb3371_c.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24946\" width=\"245\" height=\"172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/52708469084_bfabfb3371_c.jpg 800w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/52708469084_bfabfb3371_c-300x211.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 245px) 100vw, 245px\" \/><figcaption><em>Intermediate 6th &#8211; Kaveesh Balaji<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The top three students in each age division will also have\ntheir artwork submitted in the National Aviation Art Contest in Washington,\nD.C. The national winners will advance to the international competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entries this year came from 181 hometowns and 151 schools\nfrom 54 counties across the state.
