{"id":24870,"date":"2023-02-20T18:54:17","date_gmt":"2023-02-20T18:54:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=24870"},"modified":"2023-02-20T18:54:20","modified_gmt":"2023-02-20T18:54:20","slug":"north-dakota-airports-post-a-strong-start-to-the-new-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/north-dakota\/north-dakota-airports-post-a-strong-start-to-the-new-year\/%20","title":{"rendered":"North Dakota Airports Post a Strong Start to the New Year"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>North Dakota\u2019s eight commercial service airports posted a\ntotal of 90,979 airline passenger boardings during the recent month of January.\nThis is a 24% increase from the 73,117 boardings that the state experienced in\nthe same month in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the beginning of the pandemic, calendar year 2019 has\nbeen utilized as a baseline to gauge when a full recovery of airline boardings\nhas been achieved to pre-pandemic levels.&nbsp;\nThe recent statewide numbers for the month of January are approximately\n1.5% above 2019\u2019s pre-pandemic passenger counts of 89,709.&nbsp; This is the first month since the pandemic\nbegan where the passenger counts have been higher than the compared month in\n2019.&nbsp; If this trend continues, 2023\nshould be the year that the industry will achieve a full recovery in airline\npassenger numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAir service demand throughout North Dakota is a significantly stronger than one year ago and we are excited to see that the numbers are beginning to track above 2019\u2019s pre-pandemic passenger counts.\u201d stated Kyle Wanner, Executive Director of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>North Dakota\u2019s eight commercial service airports posted a total of 90,979 airline passenger boardings during the recent month of January.
