Textron Aviation is offering high school students an\nexcellent opportunity in Wichita, Kansas, to explore potential careers in the\naviation industry this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are a high school student, you have a chance to learn\nabout a wide range of exciting career fields and also get paid while doing it.\nTextron Aviation, in collaboration with the Workforce Alliance of South-Central\nKansas, is pleased to support youth throughout our communities by offering\npart-time, paid internships based in Wichita that offer valuable hands-on\nexperience in the aviation industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications are now open and will be accepted through March\n17, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internships positions are available to high school students\nbetween the ages of 16 and 19. The six-week program begins in June, and it\nprovides valuable experience in an industry with a variety of career fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each selected participant receives the full internship\nexperience, which includes an orientation with parents and their supervisor, as\nwell as a community service day and future employment opportunities. Each\nselected student is paid throughout their time in the program, which concludes\nJuly 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Textron Aviation has supported the program for the past five\nyears, and some of its past participants now work full time for the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Externship opportunities for educators<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Textron\u2019s Aviation\u2019s externship program offers an immersive,\nexperiential learning experience for educators, counselors, administrators and\nother individuals who have a direct impact on K-12 students. Participants will\nbe taken through the \u201cDesign, Build, Fly\u201d process to better understand the path\nfrom concept to production and delivery of our aircraft. This will provide\neducators with the knowledge to help counsel students in career pathing and\nbeyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
